Since 2020, every aspect of my life has pointed at the dream of travelling the world. And for that to work, you have to do right by remote work. Only work can give you that freedom and that sense of achievement.

Do not fall for the company line that remote does not work. What does not work is the management and the leadership. It is just a fetish for the office.

"But some employees slack off..."

Yes, some do. And that is also the company's fault for not educating people and for hiring badly. Yes, hiring and firing are expensive. But having processes, culture and great environments is expensive too. That line about everyone paying for the sins of a few is nonsense.
